Batch A122 affords a sip that will please many but wow few. Its solid foundation rooted in bourbon fundamentals is found in its nose and finish, both displaying classic scents and flavors. Its midpoint displays more earthy flavors that you wish had a bit more development behind them. Overall, it’s on the less exciting side for a batch of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, but knowing the potential for the brand I remain optimistic for what the other two batches this year will deliver.
